RinkSide privacy
A clear view of your information.
RinkSide is built to help adult hockey players find community. This policy explains what information we use to run that service, what you can choose to make public, and how to ask us to help with your information.
Effective date: September 16, 2026
01 / Use
Information we use
We use information you provide, such as your name, email address, password, date of birth, profile details, and messages, to create and secure your account and deliver the RinkSide features you request.
Our processing is limited to what is needed to provide requested features, maintain member profiles and messaging, protect the service and its members, prevent abuse, troubleshoot and improve the product, and meet legal obligations. Your date of birth is used to verify adult eligibility; it is not shown on your profile or in messages.
RinkSide does not sell members' personal information and does not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
02 / Visibility
Profiles and messages
Your player profile is private by default until you choose to make it discoverable. When you enable discoverability, the profile information you choose to publish—such as your display name, photo, city or region, hockey details, availability, and description—can be visible to people browsing RinkSide and may be included in public profile pages.
Information you leave out of a discoverable profile remains private to the extent the service supports. Your exact date of birth, account credentials, and private account settings are not public. Private messages are intended for the participating members, not for public profile pages. RinkSide may still process messages and related account information to deliver conversations, enforce blocks, protect members, and meet legal obligations.
04 / Trust
When information is disclosed
We may process or disclose information to service providers that help us host RinkSide, operate the database and authentication system, send email, provide analytics, and keep the service secure. Those providers receive information needed for their work and are not authorized to use it as an advertiser or data broker for RinkSide members.
We may also disclose information when you direct us to do so—for example, by publishing a discoverable profile or sending a private message—or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats; protect members, the public, or RinkSide’s rights; or respond to an emergency involving safety. These limited disclosures do not change our policy against selling information or sharing it with advertisers or data brokers.
05 / Control
Retention and your requests
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account security, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, and meet legal, tax, or safety obligations. Different information may be kept for different periods, so we do not promise a single fixed retention period. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable where practical.
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account. RinkSide does not currently offer a self-service account-deletion control. Send your request to rinkside@polsia.app from the account email when possible and explain what you need. We may need to verify your request, and we may retain limited information where necessary for legal, fraud, security, or safety reasons.
06 / Updates
Contact and changes
RinkSide is an adults-only community. If you have a privacy question, a request about your information, or a concern about safety or misuse, email rinkside@polsia.app. We may update this policy as RinkSide changes. The effective date at the top tells you when this version took effect; material changes will be presented on this page.
