Question 1

What is RinkSide?

Accepted Answer

RinkSide is a free, community-first way to discover adult hockey. Players can browse pickup games, teams, leagues, source-backed rinks, and single-game substitute openings in their area or anywhere they play.

Question 2

Is RinkSide free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Browsing the public boards and rink directory is free, and membership is free for players. Some community-posted games may have their own rink, registration, or player fees; RinkSide does not guarantee availability or pricing.

Question 3

Where can I find adult hockey in Chittenden County, Vermont?

Accepted Answer

Start with the Chittenden County hockey guide and filter the public board for Vermont or a specific city. RinkSide includes source-backed arenas in the area, while pickup games, teams, leagues, and substitute spots appear only when a community member has published them.

Question 4

Can I find pickup hockey or open ice?

Accepted Answer

Use the public pickup board to search by city, region, rink, level, or activity. Results are future community listings, so an empty board means there are no current matching listings rather than an invented recommendation.

Question 5

Can teams and leagues use RinkSide?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Discoverable adult hockey teams and leagues can publish public profiles and opportunities. A profile is shown only when its organizer has made it discoverable; private or incomplete records are left out of public search.

Question 6

How do single-game substitute openings work?

Accepted Answer

Captains can publish an open spot with the game time, rink, position, level, and any player fee. Anyone can browse currently open, unexpired spots; signing in is required to claim an opening or contact the captain.

Question 7

Where does the rink and arena information come from?

Accepted Answer

RinkSide publishes a source-backed rink directory with the source name, source link, and retrieval date on each detail page. Details can change, so confirm schedules, contacts, and ice availability with the facility and report stale information when you see it.

Question 8

Does RinkSide support regions outside Vermont?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The public discovery and rink search are region-agnostic and support communities across the United States, Canada, and other areas as the directory and member listings grow. The Chittenden County guide is a focused local starting point, not a limit on where RinkSide can be used.
